Nine years ago, a photo of a “for lease” sign — sent to my husband on a whim after a rainy walk along the boardwalk — changed the course of my life.

After eighteen years of teaching piano, I traded sheet music and classrooms for a little boutique in the seaside town I'd fallen in love with summer after summer. I didn't know exactly what I was getting myself into. I only knew that something about that empty storefront felt right.

And somehow, that little shop became Christine's Boutique.

Over the years, I've had the privilege of welcoming so many wonderful women through these doors. Some came in just to have a look and stayed for an hour. Some returned every summer. Mothers brought their daughters, friends brought friends, and familiar faces slowly became part of the story of this boutique.

Every piece I chose was picked with those women in mind — not simply because it looked beautiful on a hanger, but because I imagined how someone might feel wearing it. Comfortable. Confident. And most importantly, like herself.

After nine years I'm genuinely proud of, I've decided it's time for me to slow down and begin a new chapter.

Not because anything went wrong — quite the opposite. This little dream became more than I ever expected it to be, and I know a good ending when I see one.
